Materials and tools needed: One tatting shuttle, size 20 tatting / crochet thread, crochet hook (if your shuttle does not have one), a thin needle (for sewing in the ends).
 
Techniques used: rings, chains, joining picots, decorative picots, CTM (Continuous Thread Method), Lock Joins, downward joins (the opposite of normal joins - I've included an explanation in the instructions), SLT (shoe lace trick).
